FEMINAFRIKA is an all-female World Music Percussion Ensemble conceived and assembled by percussionist Grecia Garrett, featuring fiery rhythms and grooves from all over the globe, including Caribbean, Latin, Brazilian, West African and Middle Eastern. Our mission is to inspire our audiences to fully enjoy the multiple therapeutic benefits of drumming and to develop a deep appreciation of musical styles of various regions and cultures from around the world in order to create joy and build strong bridges across our multi-ethnic and inter generational communities. FEMINAFRIKA has performed at several venues including the prestigious Hispanic Women Of Distinction Awards Ceremony, the internationally acclaimed FLIFF Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, art exhibit openings of Multimedia Artist & Graphic Designer Niki Lopez 'What's Your Elephant' Montage Film Series, Photographer & Environmental Activist JohnBob Carlos 'Healing Waters' Art Exhibit; Miami Book Fair, weddings, birthdays, drumming workshops, and continues to serve the community by providing high-quality programs to audiences of all ages.
